What's an Escape Room? Here's how it works...

What's a Game Master?

What's a Game Master (GM) you ask? Well, the Game Master is a crucial component to our Escape Room Adventures! The Game Master is your dedicated support and is there to ensure you have an amazing time with us and to guide you through your adventure. Sometimes the games can be challenging and hints will be needed. The Game Master is there to assist you! If you have a question, ask them at any time, but once your adventure starts, you'll only have a certain amount of questions you can ask! Make sure to use them wisely! Hint usage can be the difference between escaping and being stuck forever! Take advantage of your hints and your Game Master's knowledge of the game! (note: Game Master will be observing and listening into your adventure from our control room to keep the experience as immersive as possible)

At Armadillo Escape Room Adventures, we have dedicated Game Masters. That means that there is a Game Master focused solely on your adventure. Unlike other Escape Rooms, our Game Masters do not divide their attention across multiple games. That means no waiting to get a response to your question!

FAQs

1. Do we need to make a reservation?
Yes! All customers must have a reservation in order to enter the facility. Call or book online for reservations. We recommend booking in advance but same day reservations may be available - click Katy or Spring or call for same day reservations.  If you don't see a time that works for you, give us a call and we would be happy to add another time based on availability! 

Don't know how many people will be in your group but still want to reserve a time for your group? No problem! We recommend purchasing the minimum tickets required for that adventure and then purchasing any additional tickets when you arrive!
2. When should we arrive and how long should we expect to be there? 
You should plan to arrive 5 minutes before your adventure. When you arrive, we ask that you please either wait in your car or outside our facility. One of our team members will call the number on your reservation when the lobby and adventure is ready for your group (if the number you provided while making your reservation is not a good number to reach you at just prior to your reservation, please call us to update your phone number). Please expect a call between 5 minutes prior to the reservation and the time of the reservation.

The entire experience takes about one hour and fifteen minutes (for 60 minute adventures). This includes the introduction, the time to complete the adventure, the debrief, and the themed picture in front of our green screen (check out the Photos page).
3. What happens if we're late?
All adventures will start on time.
4. What happens if we don't show up?
If you know you aren't going to make it, please call us ahead of time so we can reschedule you (subject to the rescheduling policy). Once the start time for the particular time slot you purchased tickets for has passed, you are not able to reschedule. Tickets are non-refundable.
5. What ages are best for Escape Room Adventures?
Here at Armadillo Escape Room Adventures, we don't have strict age requirements but rather we recommend this experience to people ages 7 and older. Anyone younger will still have fun! We require that anyone age 12 and under be accompanied by a paying adult.  Anyone three years of age or younger is required to be in a stroller or carrier at all times.
6. How many people can each adventure accomodate?
Each adventure is different. Our Detention: One Last Day of Summer adventure is designed for 2-6 people. The Time Travel Trouble adventure is designed for 4-14 people.  The Project Dark Cyber: Permanent Backdoor Shutdown adventure is designed for 2-7 people. A Christmas Scramble: Naughty or Nice and A Haunted Disappearance are designed for 2-4 people. School After Hours: The Final Rush is designed for 2-12 people.
7. Will I be on the adventure with other people who are not from my group?
All of our adventures are private adventures. You will not be paired with or joined by other groups.
8. Can we watch our group from outside the Escape Room Adventure?
If you are interested in watching your group from outside the adventure, this must be pre-arranged. This is only possible for private events. Please call for details.
9. What is the food and drink policy?
No food or drinks are allowed in any of the escape room adventures. Additionally, all Game Masters have the right to remove anyone from the Escape Room Adventures who they feel is intoxicated and causing a disruption to others around them. We want this to be a fun and safe experience for everyone! 
10. Is the door actually locked? Will I be able to get out if I need to?
At Armadillo Escape Room Adventures, there is always a clearly labelled, unlocked exit. We always put the safety of our guests first, and fun a very very close second. If you want to leave the game at any time, for any reason, you may! However, the clock will keep tickin' away!
11. Will I be able to keep my phone with me?
 Absolutely! Although we ask you to please refrain from using your cell phone to make phone calls, send messages, or take pictures, you may keep your phone with you on your adventure.  We do have lockers for guests to lock up their belongings if they choose to do so. 
12. Are cameras or video cameras allowed?
No cameras or video cameras are allowed on the adventures. Once you are done with your adventure, your Game Master will take a picture of your group in front of our green screen. At that time, you may also take as many pictures as you would like with your camera!
13. What is the cancellation policy?
Armadillo Escape Room Adventures is a live action event where purchasing tickets for an adventure is similar to purchasing tickets to a sporting event or concert. The first two tickets on your reservation are non-refundable. If you call at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled adventure wishing to reschedule to another time, you may reschedule all of your tickets at no cost and if you wish to cancel, you will receive a refund on every ticket over the first two tickets (i.e., if you purchased six tickets, you would receive a refund for four tickets). If you call within 48 hours prior to your scheduled adventure wishing to reschedule for a future date, you may reschedule all but two of your reserved tickets at no cost. Once a reservation has been rescheduled, it cannot be rescheduled again.
14. What is the cancellation policy for Special Event bookings?
If you call at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled event wishing to reschedule to another time, there is no fee but if you wish to cancel, you will receive 50% of the event price back. If you call within 2 weeks of the scheduled event wishing to reschedule for a future date, you will be charged $10 per ticket (if you wish to cancel, you will not receive a refund). If the event is catered and the catering had not been ordered yet, there will be no charge but if the catering was already ordered, there will be no refund for the catering. We will attempt to accommodate rescheduling the catering if at all possible.
15. DO YOU OFFER A DISCOUNT TO ACTIVE MILITARY AND VETERANS?
Yes, we offer a discount for all active duty and veterans with a military ID. Any person with a military ID qualifies for this military w/ ID ticket. If you purchase a military w/ ID ticket, please bring your military ID to show during check-in. Each military w/ ID ticket requires a military ID (i.e., if you purchase 4 regular tickets and 3 military w/ ID tickets, you will be required to show military IDs from three individuals in your group).
